Dr. Narendra Kumar Mehta, a retired lecturer and renowned Shri Ram Katha writer, shares profound insights drawn from his life experiences and spiritual learnings, offering inspiration and wisdom on the path of life.
“काम, क्रोध, मद, लोभ, सब, नाथ नरक के पंथ।
सब परिहरि रघुबीरहि, भजहुँ भजहिं जेहि संत।।”
Dr. Narendra Kumar Mehta begins his message with the uplifting verses from the Ramcharitmanas, emphasizing the transformative power of chanting Lord Ram’s name. He explains that this sacred practice helps cleanse the mind of desires, anger, pride, and greed (काम, क्रोध, मद, लोभ), allowing one to experience a sense of divine peace, a feeling akin to heaven on earth.h.
He further shares the sacred shloka — “राम रामेति रामेति, रमे रामे मनोरमे। सहस्रनाम तत्तुल्यं, रामनाम वरानने॥” — and explains its profound meaning. He narrates that, as Lord Shiva tells Parvati, among all names, the name of Ram is supreme. Chanting it just once carries the spiritual merit equivalent to reciting a thousand names of God.
Dr. Narendra Kumar Mehta shares that reading the Ramayana brings inner growth and progress. He emphasizes that negativity, jealousy, and ill thoughts gradually disappear from life, and the individual begins to walk the path of righteousness, becoming more saint-like. He suggests that every child should make it a habit to read at least one or two chaupais (quatrains) daily, understand their meaning deeply, and consistently apply the teachings in real life.
