Dr. Pradeep Kumawat, Director, Alok Institutions
Dr. Pradeep Kumawat, the Director of Alok Institutions and a respected social leader, shares a profound lesson from the life of Lord Gautama Buddha and his disciple.
One day, the disciple asked Lord Buddha, “When will I find happiness?” In response, Lord Buddha handed him a large stone and asked him to carry it while walking alongside him. The disciple obeyed, but as time passed, his arms began to ache, and he struggled to hold on. Noticing his discomfort, Buddha finally instructed him to put the stone down. Instantly, the disciple felt relief.
Buddha then explained that life's troubles are like that stone—if we cling to our worries, pain, and regrets, we only burden ourselves. True happiness lies in learning to let go. Just as the disciple felt at ease after setting the stone down, we, too, must release negativity to embrace the joy that life offers.
Dr. Pradeep Kumawat shares that holding on to hardships only prolongs suffering, but when we free ourselves from them, we create space for peace, fulfillment, and happiness.
