“कुछ छूट सा गया है वहाँ,
मुझे जाने दो मेरे बचपन में।
कुछ गुम सा गया है जहाँ,
वापस लाने दो मेरे बचपन से।

 शायद वो सुकून,
जो अब ढूँढना पड़ता है संदूक़ में,
शायद वो मस्ती,
जो खो गई है अब ख़ामोश बस्ती में।

 शायद वो माँ का स्पर्श,
जो अब बन बैठा है मेरा फ़र्ज़,
शायद वो ममता का साया,
जो दिल अब तक ना भूल पाया।

 बचपन का सार इतना ही है कि—
बचपन हमारे जीवन का वो सुनहरा वक़्त है,
जो समझ में आए बिना ही बीत जाता है।
और जब समझ समझदार होती है,
हर इंसान अपने बचपन को
एक बार फिर से जीने की तमन्ना रखता है।”
